Luke Marshall (Drum Instructor - Barrie, Ontario)
Luke is an experienced drum instructor and studio musician. He has played in many major recording facilities, live shows, theatre productions and drum clinics. He has been teaching since 1999 and in the Barrie area since 2007.
He brings with him a passion for music and an equal passion for teaching others. Luke believes in teaching the fundamentals of drumming, while at the same time passing on musicianship and performance skills. He allows the student to shape what they’d like to get out of lessons, and encourages the student to set attainable goals for themselves.
Luke studied with instructors Dave Hatcher and professional session drummer Randy Cooke (Alanis Morissette, Kelly Clarkson, Five For Fighting) They both gave him a great knowledge of studio and live drumming. His active role in Concert bands, Jazz bands, and Percussion Ensembles taught him a great deal about musicianship. In 2007 he graduated from Metalworks Institute of Sound and Music Production, where he studied arranging, music theory, production techniques, and music recording. This helped him attain a position in the music industry, where he has been a part of songwriting sessions, album productions, and been able to work and learn from artists such as Nelly Furtado, James LaBrie, and The Arkells. Luke has performed a wide range of musical styles, and has played in many live shows throughout Canada and The United States. He is currently focused on his main musical project, a percussion duet called Litster Marshall Rhythm Experience.
